A four wheel drive vehicle is essential if we have to have
access to civilization. The vehicles currently under
consideration are the Mahindra Bolero Invader and the Tata
telcoline pickup truck. The Telcoline is not a four wheel drive,
but it is cheap enough. If the land is not too rough, we would
like to go for that. The vehicle could be useful in going out to
town and gathering the monthly supplies and in emergencies.
A motorcycle or an ATV would be great for intra-resrot
travel. ATVs are not available in India, but it is possible that
we can build one by using an old Enfield Bullet 35 engine. We
will have to talk this through with an experienced mechanic
before we embark on that project.
