Recently, I read an extract of the book Happy Valley. The
idea to have a natural pond gets its inspiration from that
passage.
In the book, the author describes how he and a friend
painstakingly built a natural pond as a complete ecosystem, how
the water is re-cycled, what kinds of plants they grew.. Serious
research is needed to figure how best to do this. Part of the
problem would be to figure out solutions of just digging out a
pond does not give us the water that we need. If there is a
stream that runs through the wilderness vacation resort, that
could take care of it. if not, whether just digging a pond would
yield water is something that depends on the lay of the land.
