Yamaha’s proprietary technology in these Aventage home theatre receivers include four SCENE buttons for the SCENE mode, which is a set of pre set listening options that work on input selections. The receivers also have default settings for DVD, CD, TV, radio, iPod, Sirius, TV sports, and video games.

The Aventage receivers also have analog-to-HDMI 1080p video upscaling with precise deinterlacing for high picture quality even from non-HD sources. The Aventage series offers Deep Color (30/36 bit) technology, x.v.Color, 24Hz refresh rates, audio input assign capability for HDMI and component video inputs and auto lip sync compensation, which automatically eliminates audio/video sync issues. All Yamaha Aventage models offer 3D video support with wide range source connectivity.

The two highest models of the Yamaha receivers, the RX-A2000, and RX-A3000, incorporate an HQV Vida video processor for better performance on video upscaling. And the RX-A800, RX-A1000, RX-A2000, and RX-A3000 receivers feature dual HDMI or Zone B output capability for dual HDTV signal viewing in the main room or a secondary room.
The low end RX-A700 is similar to a standard midrange AV receiver, although its 27.56 lb weight means it’ll probably produce better full bodied sound.

The Aventage range of receivers include a YPAO automatic speaker setup function, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD master audio decoding, as well as HDMI audio return channel, and 2 or 3 zone options. All the receivers except RX-A700 support HD radio, and the RX-A1000, RX-A2000, and RX-A3000 can also play internet radio (MP3/WMA) including Rhapsody and Sirius via Ethernet. The sound files that the Yamaha Aventage series can play include WAV, MP3, WMA, AAC, FLAC 96/24, from a PC or DLNA server.

All Yamaha Aventage receivers offer a 7.2 channel configuration with full HD audio decoding (Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD master audio; Dolby digital plus and DTS-HD high resolution audio). The receivers have compressed music enhancers for improved output of digital files; low jitter PLL circuitry; HDMI V.1.4a 3D Pass-through with ARC (audio return channel).

Yamaha believes its new Aventage receivers to be the best sounding of all Yamaha receivers. The company has included in these Aventage machines a fifth foot to improve structural rigidity and reduce vibrations. Some Aventage models also have double-bottom construction to improve peak performance at multiple volumes. The new Yamaha Aventage receivers also have a proprietary Cinema DSP 3D audio processing technology and 3D Virtual Presence to complement 3D TV technology and produce extra height  that eliminates the need for extra front speakers.
