Xbox Final Fantasy XIII bundle US launch announced

While Final Fantasy fans wait for the series’ onto the Xbox 360, Square Enix and Microsoft announced the launch of the special edition Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 bundle.To be available from March 9, 2010, the bundle will include an Xbox 360 engraved with the Final Fantasy XIII name, two wireless controllers, a few exclusive downloadable avatars and a standard edition copy of the game.

Microsoft also announced that it will have an exclusive limited edition faceplate designed by Tetsuya Nomura himself – the man who designed the characters. The price is yet to be out, though it could approximately be around $399 according to some reports.

This is the only console outside of Japan that comes bundled with the game and this time, you don’t need to import it from Japan as it is available for pre-order now (till supplies last) and will be in stores by March 9, 2010. The final Fantasy limited edition will be available promotionally in fixed quantities at select retailers in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

The Microsoft Xbox 360 will be the only console in the US (outside of Japan) to get a special Final Fantasy XIII edition bundle for the game. It also comes with a 250GB hard drive which has the Final Fantasy XIII name engraved in it. Only a few retailers will have the Final Fantasy limited edition faceplates.

Microsoft is aggressively targeting Final Fantasy of PS3 by announcing the launch of the bundle.

Final Fantasy centres on a series of fantasy and science-fantasy console role-playing games. It also includes motion pictures, anime, printed media and so on. The series that began in the late 1980s as a video game has been a huge success and has branched into other genres such as tactical role-playing, action role-playing etc.

It is Square Enix’s best selling, award-winning video game which has sold than 85 million units. No price has been announced as yet, but the Final Fantasy XIII bundle is expected to cost around $400.
