Vodafone, the UK-based mobile services provider, has launched a new Vodafone Zoozoo ad contest. The hugely popular Zoozoos are back and this time, they come with a prize too.

Vodafone Zoozoos had become an instant hit when they were launched during the Indian Premier League in 2009.
Vodafone Essar has started an ad campaign along with a “complete the Zoozoo story” contest. The “complete the Zoozoo story contest” will be launched both on Facebook and on Vodafone’s India website.
Vodafone, in an effort to mark the lastest roll-out of its Zoozoos ad, has launched this advertisement campaign. The “Complete the Zoozoo story” online contest will be exclusive for Vodafone customers.
The Vodafone Zoozoo “complete the Zoozoo story” will be on between November 24, 2009 through January 1, 2010. The winners of the contest will be given 1,000 Zoozoo t-shirts along with the mega-prize of a Blackberry Storm every week.
In order to become a part of the Vodafone Zoozoo “complete the Zoozoo compaign” all the users have to do is to watch unreleased snippets of new Vodafone Zoozoo ads, and complete the advertisements according to the users’ visions. The snippets will be that of upcoming new Vodafone Zoozoo commercials.
When the Zoozoo ads were aired on Indian television during the last IPL, initially people believed that they were animated characters. Later, it was revealed that the characters were actors in costumes. They were very popular, but Vodafone moved on to more traditional advertising post-IPL.
Some of the Zoozoo ads, frankly, were not very well-made. Like it happens often in Bollywood movies, there was too much of a good thing. For example, when a zoozoo character laughed, he kept laughing till the laughter got on your nerves. Same for crying. Tactics which are very familiar to Indian TV viewers thanks to the numerous saas-bahu soaps. Thankfully, some of them were short and crisp.
