Vobis Computer’s Highscreen Zeus Android phone soon

Vobis Computer has announced that it will launch the Highscreen Zeus, its second Android phone, in Russia. The phone that will be priced at 13,990 rubles ($483 US), is a relatively cheap Android phone, but then it does not have many features to speak of.

The slider phone has a 3.2-inch TFT Transmissive LCD touch screen with a resolution of 240×400 pixels and a full QWERTY keyboard.

The Highscreen Zeus Android phone will come with a 3-mega pixel camera with auto focus. It will be powered by a Qualcomm MSM 7225 (528 MHz) processor and come with 256 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM.

The phone will work on GSM / GPRS / EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) UMTS / HSDPA / HSUPA (2100 MHz).

Other features include GPS/AGPS, microSD expansion slot, Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi with specs of 802.11 b/g, micro-USB, and 3.5 mm headset jack.

The phone’s Lithium-ion 1010 mAh battery will offer Talk time of up to 480 minutes and standby time of up to 400 hours, for GSM.

The phone measures 110 x 55 x 15, 1 mm and weighs 124.6 grams.

unwired view has reported that the Highscreen Zeus will feature a new navigation service called iDA by a Canadian company, Intrinsync. The service will enable users to avail of voice turn-by-turn navigation while driving.

In July 2009, Vobis Computer had launched the Highscreen PP5420, Russia’s first Android phone. The phone was said to be based on the Ice phone from Mobinnova, a Taiwanese company.

Vobis Computer has not announced a release date for the Highscreen Zeus Android phone, but unofficial reports say that the phone will be launched in mid-November 2009.
