Toshiba has launched a new netbook series called the NB250 in India. These netbooks comes with 6 cell battery and can deliver upto 8 hours of battery life. Powered by Intel Atom processor N455 and speed of 1.66 GHz, the new netbook series runs on Windows 7 Starter edition. The new Toshiba NB250 netbook has a price tag of Rs 19,250 in India.
Weighing just 1.12kg, the NB250 netbook features a 10.1-inch LED backlight, 250 GB SATA hard disk drive for storage, 1GB of RAM, which can be increased to 2GB. Moreover, the netbook uses Intel NM10 for graphics and is compliant with ROHS directives and meets the requirements of the EnergyStar 5.0 standard.
The Toshiba NB250 has Wi-Fi and LAN connectivity. It posses Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology and supports HD audio. In addition, it comes with a full sized keyboard along with multi-touchpad with gesture support to make navigation easy.
There are the usual three USB ports. Abroad, the NB250 features standby charing, where even when the laptop is asleep, it charges plugged in USB devices. We are not sure if this feature is available in India. Also Bluetooth is missing in the netbook. The netbook features only one speaker, something that might be a bit of an irritant. We guess Toshiba really wanted to keep the price of the NB250 below Rs 20,000!
Sivakumar N, General Manager, Toshiba India (PC Division) said, “Strengthening our array of products for India, on the occasion of our Independence day, Toshiba India now offers its customers all day computing freedom. The Toshiba NB250 series has a sophisticated look, is low weight and will help our customer remain connected on the go.”
