Journe Air 801 and Journe Air 1000 digital photo frames will come with 10-inch widescreens and Wi-Fi connectivity. Now one can access their Flickr and Picassa albums from the internet and display them in slideshows without having to copy the photos on to the frames’ storage using SD cards or USB thumb drives. Users will now be able to change their display pictures from their own personal collections online directly.

Toshiba’s lower-end digital photo frame, the Journe Air 801, comes with an internal memory of 128 Mb Flash Memory and also supports SD, MMC, MS, MS Pro and XD memory cards to expand space. So if all you want is to use it to display the pics you just took with your mobile phone or digicam, no sweat.

The battery life of the Toshiba Journe Air 801 digital photo frame is 51 minutes, which allows users to buy enough time to share pictures and images with friends, family and relatives over from your home to your work place. You can of couse plug it into the wall power supply and keep it on forever. It has a black glossy surface with a silverfish finish to it. It includes a light & tilt sensor, integrated speakers, an alarm, clock and calendar. In addition it includes full touch sensor controls and Sub-View and 3D Album modes. Ergonomically also, the Journe Air 801 is well designed and can be viewed on the computer Desktop pretty easily.

The higher end Toshiba model, the Journe Air 1000 Digital Photo Frame, on the other hand has 1 GB of integrated Flash Memory, along with the capacity to support SD, MMC, MS, MS Pro and XD memory cards to expand storage space. The Journe Air 1000 too has a well designed Led Backlit LCD TFT 10 inch screen with an aspect ratio of 16:9.

Incorporated with the light and tilt sensors the Air 1000 expands its utility and can be viewed almost anywhere. With its metallic black glossy looks, the Photo frame all in all looks like a good package. It’s more than a photo frame and with features like integrated speaker, audio playback feature, remote control, IP radio, calendar, clock and alarm it is obviously the better of the two Journe’s.

Toshiba Journe Air 1000 will sell at a price of £169.99 ($237) and the Journe Air 801 will go for £139.99 ($196). The release dates are not yet out though Toshiba did say earlier the Journe Air digital photo frames will ship to Europe, the Middle East and Africa during the 1st quarter of the year.
