TomTom EASE, the latest GPS device from TomTom will be in US soon. The company announced that the easy-to-use TomTom EASE will be an entry-level personal navigation device (GPS device) for the US market.

Canada-based TomTom is a world leader in the GPS maps and devices industry. Maps on the TomTom EASE will be from Tele Atlas. TomTom EASE will come preloaded with Tele Atlas maps, featuring over 3 million points of interest along 6.5 million km of roads, the company said in a press release.
The TomTom EASE is targeted at the entry-level GPS PND user, who wants to get from point A to point B with minimum hassles. The LCD touchscreen on the TomTom EASE has two main icons – Plan Route and Get Map. The EASE also features text-to-speech for voice navigation and turn by turn directions.
According to Jocelyn Vigreux, president of TomTom Inc, TomTom EASE combines quality, simplicity and style into one compact device. This will be an affordable, easy-to-use portable navigation device with the most innovative map and routing technologies available, he added. The company has not announced the price of the TomTom EASE GPS device so far.
The TomTom EASE has an windscreen/dashboard mount, which can be conveniently folded for portability. TomTom said that the EASE will be the most compact GPS navigation device yet.
TomTom EASE also features MapShare, an innovaive feature. Essentially, users can tag changes in the roads and points of interests. This can be shared with other users of TomTom EASE so that in between map updates, one gets to keep map data as current as possible.
Some of the technical specifications of the TomTom EASE GPS are; Height: 3.4” x Width: 3.6”x Depth: 1.2” (including mount). The weight of thr TomTom EASE is 6.1 oz. including car mount. The EASE Touch-screen has a size of 3.5 inches, and features an LCD display of 320 x 240 pixels, supporting 64000 colors. The EASE GPSW has 2 Gb of Flash memory.
