Tata Docomo to launch Acer beTouch E101, Acer neoTouch S200 Windows Mobile 6.5 phones in India

Tata Docomo has announced that it will launch the latest Windows Mobile 6.5 smart phones in India, starting with the Acer beTouch E101 and the Acer neoTouch S200. The Acer beTouch E101 will be available at a price of Rs 11,990.

The Acer beTouch E101 phone has a  3.2-inch WQVGA touch screen and scroll wheel, 12-mm casing, and 2-mega pixel camera.

The phone is powered by a Qualcomm 7225 528MHz processor and runs Windows Mobile 6.5 with IE Mobile 6.

Other specifications of the Acer beTouch E101 phone are customizable home screen, choice of colors for battery covers, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, quadband GSM and EDGE.

The Acer beTouch E101 provides access to Windows Mobile 6.5 applications, such as Microsoft My Phone that allows users to back up their personal information with a password-protected internet-based service.

The Acer beTouch E101 smartphone, though, is more of a style-oriented phone rather than a feature-oriented phone.

Acer neoTouch S200

The Acer neoTouch S200, on the other hand, comes with a 3.8-inch high-definition touch screen, 5-mega pixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and VGA video recording.

The phone is powered by a Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon processor and gets both quadband GSM and triband HSPA. Other specs include integrated WiFi b/g and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, assisted GPS, an accelerometer, Stereo FM radio with RDS, and 3.5-mm headphone jack.

The Acer neoTouch S200 also offers direct access to social networking sites like Facebook and apps like Google Maps with Latitude, POI search, Street View, Traffic and automatic wireless and web-based device synchronization.

The phone has a Li-Po 1350 mAh standard battery that offers stand-by of up to 400 hours and talk time of up to 5 hours.

The Acer neoTouch S200 is available in one colour, Black.
