We are still awaiting any confirmation of the same from Tata Docomo. There has been no update on the Tata Docomo website so far about the comparatively inexpensive Blackberry Curve 8520 which is quite popular in the country.
The Blackberry Curve 8520 offers dedicated media keys, easy media sharing, a trackpad for easy navigation through the phone’s user interface, and support for Apple computers.
The Curve 8520 from Tata Docomo does not have a trackball, and istead uses a trackpad. This has been acknowledged by everyone as a better way to navigate, as the trackball was prone to failure or getting stuck due to grime – a big problem in India’s heat and dust.
The Blackberry Curve 8520 weights only 106 grams, and features a 2 MP camera, limited video shooting capability, and has 256 MB of flash memory. The phone has wi-fi, which means that you will be able to use it in any wi-fi hotspot or on your home or office wireless network if you have one.
In India, Blackberry models are now available from almost all mobile telecom service providers, and Tata Docomo obviously does not want to hold back. The company is currently advertising on many TV channels to build brand awareness.
At a price of Rs 15,000 approx, it is expected that a much younger generation would also be able to purchase these phones.
