MTS India, the CDMA mobile telephony service of Sistema Shyam Teleservices Ltd (SSTL), on Monday rolled out three new smartphones; Ivory, Buzz and Alive - targeted at college-going and young net-savvy professionals.
MTS Mumbai mobile telephony services were launched today. With this, MTS becomes the latest cellular service provider in Bombay. The other wireless operators in Mumbai currently are MTNL, Tata Indicom, Tata DoCoMo, Reliance Communications, Airtel, Vodafone, Idea Cellular, Aircel and Loop Mobile. Uninor is expected to launch its mobile phone services in a short while.
MTS Mumbai mobile telephony services are likely to be launched soon. MTS, the mobile brand from Sistema-Shyam Tele, already has operations in Delhi, Bihar-Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Kolkata, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.
After launching its CMDA mobile services in Kolkata on May 21, 2009, Sistema Shyam Teleservices (SSTL), a joint venture between Russia’s Sistema and the Shyam Group, now plans to extend its services to Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Delhi.
