Windows Phone 7 will make its official launch in India soon.

Huawei plans to become a standalone brand in the Indian mobile phone market. The first device from the company will run on Google Android and will cost less than Rs. 10,000. This smartphone should arrive here within the next couple of weeks.

Consumer electronics manufacturer Weston has announced that it will start selling cell phones in the Indian market starting in the North and East of the country, regions where it already has a strong presence – with subsequent rollouts planned for remaining parts of India later on. Weston said that its new products would largely be aimed at the semi urban and rural markets.

Samsung Thursday expanded its “Guru” range of budget cell phones in India with the release of a dual-SIM device called the Guru E2152. Priced approximately Rs 3,500, the low-end featurephone is now available across the country.

Remember the Android tablet that Kapil Sibal, Union HRD minister showed off to the public, a few weeks back? He had claimed that the tablet, priced at a super-low $ 35, was the creation of IITs in India.
