Proving to be a hit in the southern region of the country, Big TV has clocked a figure of 500,000 subscribers in the four southern states within five months of its launch. The company said that this has also placed it in the unique position of being the fastest growing DTH player in the country.
Setting new standards in after-sales-service to ensure customer satisfaction and comfort, Big TV has deployed a team of close to 10,000 trained installers and demonstrators with a cumulative capacity of installing 50,000 connections a day.
A BIG TV direct-to-home connection was set-up at “Dropadi ka Danda” in the premises of the Base Camp of the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) situated at 15,317 ft above sea level in the Mt. Everest.
Reliance Communications’ newly-launched digital Direct-To-Home service Big TV will be offering a DTH connection with three months subscription for Rs 700 through a special tie-up with leading television manufacturer LG Electronics.
Reliance Communications Ltd’s Big TV DTH is gearing up to double the bouquet of over 200 channels to 400 channels in the coming months. Launched a month ago, the direct-to-home service launched by the Anil Ambani Group will soon offer 400 channels.
Airtel has tied up with with Infosys for its direct-to-home (DTH) service, Airtel digital TV. As part of the partnership, Infosys will provide a suite of products including devices, application servers and interactive applications that will provide users local city information through applications such as iCity, internet-like experience with iNet, live stock quotes, breaking news, cricket scores, shopping deals and horoscopes. The Airtel digital TV DTH service will also provide an application called tportal that offers select websites packaged for TV-viewing.
