As we reported earlier today, Spice Mobility has announced a handful of Android devices for India.

The company has already launched the Spice Mi-300 budget Android smartphone at a price of Rs 9,990. It also announced the upcoming launch of its higher-end Android phone, the Spice Mi-410 ‘mini’ Android tablet and 7-inch tablet, the Mi-700.

As far specs go, the Spice Mi-410 looks impressive enough. It has a 4.1-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen, and promises to impress with its ability to record and play high-definition video (we assume this would be at 720p). The Spice Mi-410 runs on Android 2.1 and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon MSM8255 chipset (possibly an 800 MHz processor). Some reports call this a mini-tablet, but that is a bit difficult to digest. The Samsung Galaxy S Android smartphone has a 4.1 inch screen too, and there are several phones in the market with 4.3 inch screens. Considering that the Dell Streak Android tablet with a 5-inch screen is often called a large smartphone, calling the Spice Mi-410 a mini-tablet is a stretch.

The Spice Mi-410’s connectivity options comprise of Wi-Fi, 3G (HSDPA) and Bluetooth 3.0. The device enables data transfer through EDR at the speed of 24Mbps. Other features include AGPS, GMS and built-in MS Office.

The Spice Mi-410 is expected to be priced around Rs 20,000, a reasonable price for the specs it offers.

The final Android treat in the Spice pipeline is the Mi-700, another handheld tablet with a 7-inch HVGA touchscreen. This device stands out from the other Spice offerings with its Android 2.2 Froyo OS. You might also be interested in this story about the OlivePad VT100 Android tablet

Another unique feature of the Spice Mi-700, that is absent in other tablets in the market, is the presence of a dual camera, which enables video calling. The device connects through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB and 2G/3G. It also has a hot swap memory card slot.

Qualcomm’s MSM7227 chipset runs the Spice Mi-700 tablet. It s expected to be priced below Rs. 25,000.

The Spice Mi-410 and Mi-700 Android tablets are expected to be launched in India around October-November 2010.
