Speed on Demand from Bharti Airtel

Integrated telecom services provider Bharti Airtel Ltd has unveiled its new innovative ‘Speed-on- Demand’ service for its broadband customers. ‘Speed on Demand’ is an innovative offering that enables Airtel broadband customers to upgrade their broadband speed for a select duration and pay for only that usage.

This ‘Pay as You Use’ model allows customers the flexibility of enjoying high speed broadband to access applications like gaming, downloading movies etc without changing their current plan.

Announcing this new service , Shamik Das, CEO-South, Airtel Telemedia Services, Bharti Airtel Ltd, said “Airtel Telemedia always ensures that our customers get the best value and enjoy the finest services and benefit from our innovative offerings. Speed on Demand is one more of our revolutionary services. We have set up a fully automated online process that delivers bandwidth upgradation as and when required to our Telemedia customers. We are confident our Telemedia customers will make the most of this valuable service.”

Bharti Airtel’s Speed on Demand was an inactive feature on Airtel’s NetXpert software which is installed on PCs which use Airtel broadband – but the feature has been activated only now.

Airtel Telemedia customers can choose from 4 different broadband speed options:While  Broadband speed of 256 KBPS woud come at Rs 25 per hour, Broadband speed of 512 KBPS is at Rs 40 per hour, Broadband speed of 1024 KBPS at Rs 75 per hour and Broadband speed of 2048 KBPS at Rs 120 per hour

Airtel Telemedia customers can log on to the Airtel SelfCare portal to view their usage and session details, which will subsequently be mentioned in the bill as well. Further, an Airtel Telemedia customer will not be charged if his broadband session is disconnected abruptly, the company said.
