Earlier this year, there were rumors that Sony’s upcoming motion controller would be called the Arc. In January 2010, Sony had said that the company would launch the PS3 motion controller in fall 2010 when it would offer a new line-up of software titles for PS3 users.

The Sony Move will be available in three purchase options. The first option will offer only the Sony Move wands to be used by those who already own the PlayStation Eye camera.

The second option will offer the Sony Move Wands, PlayStation Eye camera and a game, while the third will come with the Sony Move wands, PlayStation Eye camera, the PlayStation 3 console, and a game.

Though the company has not revealed the complete pricing details for the three options, it has indicated that the second option would be priced under under $100.

Peter Dille, senior VP, Marketing for Sony Computer Entertainment, said, “This is our biggest effort of the year. Wii owners will make a natural move to PlayStation because it’s more precise and offers high-definition game play.”

Sony also introduced what it calls a sub-controller, that is an analog stick that can be used along the Sony Move, for games such as the SOCOM 4 that is expected to start shipping in the fall of 2010.
