The 16 GB memory space puts the Sony Walkman NW-A845 in the same league as many of the currently available iPods and Philips/Samsung music players. The flash memory can hold approximately 4000 songs in MP3 format. Besides, the Sony Walkman NW-A845 also comes with a built-in FM radio tuner.

Supported media on the Sony Walkman include AAC, MP3, WMA (Audio codec support) H.264 / AVC, MPEG-4, WMV (Video codec) and JPEG (image format).
The smallest Sony Walkman has noise-cancelling headphones. The product is also outfitted with an audio jack of standard 3.5 mm size and a mini-USB port for charging and media transfer. Sony says that the new Walkman comes with S-Master Digital Amplifier technology for the best audio experience.
The Lithium Ion battery on the Sony Walkman NW-A845 is rechargeable and built-in.
You can also connect your Sony Walkman NW-A845 to your TV with an A/V output cable and enjoy videos on the big screen. Videos from the Sony Walkman NW-A845 will appear on TV at a 30fps frame rate in SD format (720 x 480).
Sony said that its Clear Stereo technology reduces leakage between left and right channels, while Clear Bass brings powerful, controlled low-end frequencies without distortion.
Sony said in a press release for the European markets that users can transfer files to and from the Walkman with simple drag-and-drop. You can also transfer media files with iTunes 9.0 or with Sony’s Content Transfer software. Accessories available with the Walkman A-845 include the Sony SRS-NWGU50 speaker system and several leather (CKL-NWA840) and silicon cases (CKM-NWA840).
