Rumor mills are abuzz with the news that Sony Ericsson will announce the Sony Xperia X2 at a press meet in the first week of September 2009.SEMC blog has said that it is confirmed that the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2, also known as Vulcan, will be announced next week.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 is said to support Windows Mobile 6.5 and PS3’s remote play feature.
The RAM will be upgraded to 512 Mb and the camera resolution takes a big leap from 3.2 megapixels to 8.1 megapixels. The camera has auto focus features and is VGA @ 30fps (MP4 HQ) video recording capable.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia X2, which has a thinner form factor than the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, is also likely to have a reworked keyboard and a larger directional pad.
The phone will have a 3.5-inch WVGA OLED screen, up from 3.0 in the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
Other features will include GPS, aGPS, 3.5 mm headphone jack, Accelerometer, faster processor are some other noticeable upgrades.
Sony Ericsson is expected to announce details about the price and the availability of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 in the press meet.
In June 2009, the first spyshots of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 surfaced on the internet.
