Sony Ericsson Satio smartphone launched in UK

Sony Ericsson has launched its Sony Ericsson Satio smartphone in the UK via Vodafone.

As for the price, Vodafone will give the Sony Ericsson Satio handset free for £35 – £40 per month on a two-year contract.

The smartphone comes with a TFT touch screen display that is 3.5 inches in size with a resolution of 360×640 pixels.

The Sony Ericsson Satio measures 112.0 x 55.0 x 13.0 mm (4.4 x 2.2 x 0.5 inches) and weighs 126 grams.

The Satio will be available in three colors, Black, Silver, and Bordeaux.

The phone runs on the Symbian S60 5th edition operating system. The Sony Ericsson phone sports a 12.1-mega pixel (MP) camera with digital zoom up to 16X, geo tagging, smile detection, autofocus, Xenon and LED flash, and video recording.

The Sony Ericsson Satio works on the GSM/GPRS/EDGE network at 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and UMTS/HSPA network at 900/2100 MHz.

Connectivity features include built-in WiFi, with specifications of 802.11 b/g, DLNA, PictBridge, USB support, Bluetooth, aGPS, and Google Maps.

The phone is equipped with FM radio, has an internal memory of 128 MB and SanDisk microSD memory card support extensible to 32GB.

Multimedia capabilities include support for MP3/WMA/WAV/RA/AAC/M4A audio formats and WMV/RV/MP4/3GP video formats.

The Sony Ericsson Satio comes with a standard Li-Po 1000 mAh battery with the following specs:

Stand-by time: Up to 360 h (2G) / Up to 340 h (3G)
Talk time: Up to11 h (2G) / Up to 4 h 50 min (3G)

Along with the Sony Ericsson Satio, Vodafone also launched the LG GM750 and the HTC Tattoo Android phone.

The HTC Tattoo Android phone and the LG GM750 phone will be available for £25 on a 2-year contract. The handset will be free.

The Sony Ericsson Satio is being launched in select markets as of now. There is no word if the phone will be launched in India, in the near future, but if it is launched, the Satio is likely to be quite expensive.
