The company had to recall the phones in November 2009 because many users complained about the phone freezing when it ran more than one application.

The reports that came out were, apparently, too embarrassing for the company and now it seems that a solution is at hand.

The new Sony Ericsson Satio phone patch, called the version R1CA037, can be downloaded from the company’s website.

Some news reports suggest that the patch might only work on non-branded phones, so it remains to be seen if it would work on Vodafone Satio phones.

As per the latest feedback, the Sony Ericsson Satio touchscreen phone works much faster with the installation of the patch.

Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4 U retailers had removed Satio phones from their list in end-November 2009, and they have not yet started to offer the phones again on their websites.

Some reports say that users have faced problems with the Sony Ericsson Aino as well, but the phone has not been recalled.

The Sony Ericsson Satio was launched in the UK via Vodafone, in October 2009. At the time of the launch, Vodafone gave the Sony Ericsson Satio phone free for £35 – £40 per month on a two-year contract.

The Satio has a 3.5-inch touch screen display with a resolution of 360×640 pixels, and comes in three colors, Black, Silver, and Bordeaux.

Specifications of the phone include WiFi, USB support, Bluetooth, aGPS, FM Radio, and Google Maps.
