There is very little information available about the Sony Ericsson Kurara as of now but it is speculated that the phone will run on a Symbian S60 5th generation operating system.

The phone is said to have a large 3.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, an 8.1MP camera with auto focus and flash, and HD-quality video capability (unconfirmed).

The smartphone will not have a direct USB connection.

Some reports suggest that the Sony Ericsson Kurara will feature Sony Ericsson’s new UX platform (with Timescape and Mediascape) that was launched with the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Android phone.

The two applications are meant to bring together Sony Ericsson’s expertise in entertainment and multimedia. Mediascape allows users to organise all their local and online content, while Timescape groups communications and contact information with events and activities on social networking sites.

The Sony Ericsson Kurara is likely to be launched in early 2010.

Sony Ericsson launched the much-awaited Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Android phone (earlier known as the Xperia X3) on November 3, 2009.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, said to be one rung lower than the recently launched Motorola Droid Android phone, is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250.

The phone has a 4-inch capacitive touch screen, 8.1-mega pixel camera, Bluetooth, GPS, standard 3.5-mm audio jack, Micro USB connector, FM radio, car charger, USB support, and Wi-Fi.
