Sony Walkman Beans launched

Just before the launch of the iPod Motorola
ROKR and the next iPod Mini, Sony introduces a
range of Sony Walkman Beans players.

August 20, 2005: Sony is expanding its wide range of digital music players with a new offering -
the Sony Walkman Beans. The new kidney-shaped, flash-based device is the latest music equipment from Sony to catch-up with the iPod from Apple Computer.
The Sony Walkman Beans comes from the new NW-E300 series and it can play both MP3 and Atrac music files. It also supports WMA and WAV formats.
The Sony Walkman Beans music player comes with an in-built Fm tuner,an organic electroluminescent three-line display and a pop-up USB jack that allows connection to a PC for battery charging and music transfers. The continuous playback time is 50 hours and a unique quick charge-function allows three hours working for three minutes
charging for the Walkman Bean.
Price starts at $130 for the Sony Walkman Bean NW-E305, which has 512MB of storage, and about $180 for the NW-E307, with 1GB of storage. Walkman Beans comes in four colours- white or blue for the 512MB model, and black or pink for the 1GB version.
Though the Sony Bean players are expected in October, the company started taking pre-orders on Thursday.
