The Japanese audio systems market will see an Indian invasion soon with Sonodyne, one of the pioneers in high-fidelity home and professional audio systems, all set to make its foray into Japan.

Kolkata-based Sonodyne International has drawn up a comprehensive plan to make its presence felt in the Japanese market by competing with the the biggest electronics firms there. The company would soon take its professional audio systems to Japan. The Japanese plans come following Sonodyne’s successful forays into quite a handful of advanced markets such as Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada and the US. Sonodyne is also a prime player in the high end audio systems market in the European region.

Certified by hundreds of customers since the late 1960s as unparalleled and of top quality, Sonodyne products currently boast of a big base among Indian audiophiles. According to industry reports, Germany is one big buyer of Sonodyne audio devices and exports bring in around 80 per cent f the companies revenues. Sonodyne’s success lies in the fact that most of the serious buyers look at quality and price than at brand names. Sonodyne has been able to make sure that quality matters most while luring cutomers to its fold.

Sonodyne, which built its base in an era when stereo sound was an alien concept in India, has in it product profile hi-fi stereo amplifiers and speakers, loudspeakers and turntables, component audio systems and many other modern innovations. It is currently in the process of getting into the car audio segment and is expected to announce its foray soon.

With the company now fast lining up its entry into Japan, where home-grown electronics majors rule, it is expected that Sonodyne would be emulate its success it managed in other major markets. It is now looking at appointing distributors in Japan in its bid to position its products in the same league as Sony, Panasonic and other majors.

Even as it makes its Japanese foray in a big way, the company is also said to be mulling over means to push up sales in the US and Canada. The Indian market still remains important and the company is looking at unveiling exclusive showrooms in the country.

PS: We hope our friend Denny we wrote about earlier is stocking Sonydyne high end audio stuff in Delhi.
