AT&T in a press conference revealed its upcoming two new smartphone and four quick messaging cell phones. These mobile phones come in the price range of $99.99 to $249.00.
The Nokia E71x, supposedly the world’s thinnest smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard, is already for sale outside U.S and will be available through AT&T for $99.99 after rebate and a year contract. It will be on sale “in coming weeks,” an AT&T spokeswoman said. The Nokia E71x will be showcased by AT&T in the CTIA conference in Las Vegas this coming Wednesday.
The E71x works on the Symbian S60 OS and also has Wi-Fi in addition to a number of Symbian applications. It also has other added features like the AT&T navigator.
Another QWERTY smartphone is the Samsung Propel Pro, with a compact slider keypad. The phone is based on its predecessor the Samsung Propel and also has Wi-Fi receptor in built. The Smartphone is based on Windows Mobile 6.1 and hence the users can run a variety of applications to text and send photos. The phone will be available from April 14th for $199.99, or $149.99 with a mail-in rebate, good for a $50 AT&T promotion card.
As far as quick messaging AT&T phones go, the Samsung Impression phone is one of the phones which AT&T claims to have one of the brightest and clearest displays in U.S with its AMOLED screen. It has a 3.2 inch screen with a 3 Mega pixel camcorder capable camera. The quick messaging keyboard is beneath the screen with the buttons on the inside and the touch screen on the outside. The Samsung SGH A877 Impression mobile phone will be available by 7 April, 2009 and costs $249.99; with a mail-in rebate, the phone costs $199.00.
LG Xenon, the mobile phone targeted at teenagers, is another of the quick messaging phones with the QWERTY keyboard and a futuristic user interface. The LG Xenon has a 2.0 megapixel camera and also supports the 3G service. The cell is equipped with AT&T Navigator, Napster Mobile, eMusic Mobile and more, some of the AT&T entertainment service. The LG Xenon phone is $149.99 or $99.99 after a mail-in rebate; a two-year service agreement also is required. AT&T has not released a launch date.
The lost cost touch screen with a green and white tint to its chassis, the LG Neon is again aimed for the teens. The phone has a full keyboard with a 2.0 Mega Pixel camera and features that allows that user to access instant messaging, Mobile Email, AT&T Music and the Internet. For a cost of $99.99 the phones will be out in a few week time.
The Samsung Magnet is the fourth in the quick messaging phones released by AT&T, another low cost mobile. With an integrated camera and WAP Browser the phone will be out in a few weeks time. The cost is not yet released but is expected to be around %50.00.
