A technology website has reported
HCL has unveiled a new range of
notebook computers that incorporates
Embedded Continuity and Control (EC2)
technology. The new self healing
computers boast of being able to
recover all data in less than a
minute.
The report said that the new laptops
from the HCL Non-stop Series range has
EC2 technology designed to protect the
system from unwanted and sudden
changes in system configuration,
operating system, software settings,
parameter settings, etc that result
from viruses, user errors, and system
crashes. The laptops have the ability
to automatically store data in a
back-up space in the machine, and
update their own working states at
regular intervals, it added.
Priced at Rs 27,990, the laptops will
store a complete record of all data,
including software and user data. And
in case a system crash, malfunction,
or accidental loss of data occurs, it
would be possible to reload the
previously recorded image, and get the
computer working with no negative
impact whatsoever.
Meanwhile the company has on its
showroom racks notebooks and desktop
PCs pre-loaded with Microsoft's latest
operating system Windows Vista. With
this HCL has said it has kept its
promise with the Indian customers who
have come to expect the latest in
computing technology from their
trusted computer manufacturer. The 29
HCL retail outlets across India have
on their shelves the Vista-powered PCs
and notebooks.
The company had also offered a free
upgrade to Windows Vista to its
customers who have bought PCs marked
Windows Vista capable or Windows Vista
ready between October 26, 2006 and
March 15, 2007, it added.
