At the International Electronics Consumer show currently being held in Las Vegas, US, Samsung has displayed four of its new e-readers. At an earlier press conference, Samsung had announced that the company would showcase two new e-readers in its kitty, but the displaying of four new e-readers from Samsung has come as an amusement to observers.
On Wednesday, Samsung had announced the release of its highly awaited Samsung E6 (6-inch) and E101 (10-inch touchscreen) e-readers. Both the Samsung E6 (6-inch) and E101 (10-inch touchscreen) e-readers can be used for taking notes, drawing and reading.
In addition to the already announced Samsung E6 (6-inch) and E101 (10-inch touchscreen) e-readers, the company has now shown its bew smaller 5-inch model and a 6-inch model e-readers which come with a QWERTY keyboard for thumb typing.
Both Samsung E6 (6-inch) and E101 (10-inch touchscreen) e-readers have handwriting capability with built-in electromagnetic resonance (EMR) stylus pens in addition to touchscreens.
The Samsung 5-inch model and a 6-inch model QWERTY e-readers is expected to launch in March or April and the Samsung E6 (6-inch) and E101 (10-inch touchscreen) e-readers will be launched in July 2010.
The prices of the two new e-readers from Samsung have not been disclosed yet.
The retail price of Samsung E6 e-reader will beĀ $399 and that of Samsung E101 e-reader will be $699 in the United States.
Samsung has a deal with Google to offer e-books from Google’s library of over 1 million volumes. E-books can be downloaded on the devices via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. According to Samsung, the two new e-readers will run for two weeks after charging and are equipped with wireless capabilities.
