Samsung has announced the addition of two of its ultra compact cameras, the Samsung TL110 and TL105, to its line up of smart cameras. The Samsung TL110, known as the ST70 in Europe, is a 14.2-megapixel camera and the TL105, ST60 in Europe, is a 12.2-megapixel camera.
Both are 0.65-inch thick, pack 2.7-inch LCDs and offer HD video recording at a resolution of 720p/30fps, using H.264 compression.
The Samsung TL110 has a 27-mm wide angle lens while the Samsung TL105 comes with a 27.5mm wide-angle lens.
The Samsung TL110 measures 96.3 x 55.8 x 16.6mm, while the Samsung TL105 measures 90.9 x 56 x 16.5 mm.
Both the cameras offer Samsung’s advanced scene recognition technology, Smart Auto (still and movie).
This technology analyses the composition of an image when capturing digital stills and the video by automatically choosing an appropriate setting from the four pre-programmed settings, which will select the best exposure and colour balance.
Both the cameras offer scene modes like the Fisheye, Lomo and a DeFog Clear/Fog Lifting mode that helps it to take clearer images even in haze.
The Samsung TL110 and the TL105 cameras provide a long list of photography styles to suit all scenarios, including normal, soft, vivid, forest, retro, cool, calm, classic, negative, custom RGB, Sketch and DeFog Clear/Fog Lifting.
The Samsung TL110 ultra-slim camera has a 5x optical zoom, which is paired with dual image stabilisation (DIS) that helps reduce image blur. This combines both optical and digital image stabilisers to produce sharp images.
The Samsung TL105 camera offers an expanded 4x optical zoom and a digital image stabilisation feature.
Both the cameras allow manual set options including ISO, white balance, metering mode, AF, and exposure compensation.
The scene modes available include beauty shot, night, frame guide, portrait, children, landscape, close-up, text, sunset, dawn backlight, beach and snow and fireworks.
“Consumers want portability from their point and shoot cameras, and we think our ultra-slim TL110 and TL105 address that desire,” states Steve Mitchell, marketing general manager, Samsung Digital Imaging.
“Both the TL110 and TL105 are feature-packed and ideal for every type of photographer who wants a well-equipped, easy?to?use, compact camera,” he added.
The Samsung TL110 and T105 digital cameras will go on sale in February 2010.
