Samsung is looking to beef its Android line-up, or so it appears, with rumors of two Android phones, the Galaxy 2 and the S5620 Monte, doing the rounds.While the Samsung Galaxy 2 is said to be a top-end phone, a worthy competitor to Google’s Nexus One, the Samsung S5620 Monte looks more like a middle-rung handset.

Samsung S5620 Monte Android phone specifications
The Samsung S5620 Monte is touted as a likely successor to the Samsung Star S5600 Preston phone. Leaked photos of the phone, that have been posted by dailymobiles, reveal a candybar touchscreen phone in Chrome and Silver.
As seen in the photo below, the Samsung S5620 Monte Android phone will come with a 3-inch capacitive touchscreen display. It will sport the latest Samsung TouchWiz UI and come with a 3 or 5 megapixel camera.

The Samsung S5620 Monte will offer 3G with HSDPA support, MicroSD slot, 200MB internal memory, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and 3.5mm audio port, dailymobiles has reported.

There is no indication of the price of the phone or its availability. The Samsung Star series and Corby line-up are immensely popular in India. Samsung had launched the Samsung Star S5233 and Samsung Star 3G S5603, in India, in May 2009.

Priced at Rs Rs 11,100 and Rs 14,499, respectively, the Samsung phones offered features such as gesture control, accelerometer, Touch Wiz user interface with mobile widgets, and access to Google applications.
In September 2009, the company launched a WiFi version of the Samsung Star S5233/S5230 touchscreen phone, that had features identical to its predecessor, except that it offered WiFi. The phone is priced at Rs 12,000.
Both, the Samsung Galaxy 2 and the Samsung S5620 Monte are expected to be launched at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2010, that will be held in February 2010.
