Samsung has unveiled its new camera – the PL200 – that combines 7x optical zoom lens and a resolution of 14.2 megapixels. The slim and stylish camera offers encompasses high-definition video recording, powerful optics, and a large LCD screen. The camera would be available in the market in the month of September for $179.99. We have to say that at such a low price, the Samsung PL200 definitely looks like a good buy.

The Samsung PL200, which measures 3.9″ x 2.3″ x 0.83″, comes with interesting features such as Smart Auto, which automatically analyzes the current environment for shooting and then selects the most suitable scene mode and the settings to give the best results to the photographer.

As you can see from the photo of the Samsung PL200 here, the company has not taken any risks with the design of the little digicam. It is all traditional and safe.

The Samsung PL200 has two interesting features- Beauty Shot and Smile Shot. Smile Shot automatically takes the photo when the subject smiles. The camera also has Blink Detection and Face Detection tools. In addition, users can use the Smart Album feature to help manage their images.

Interestingly, the camera is embedded with Dual IS system for both optical and digital image stabilization. It includes a long 7x optical zoom lens, with a 35mm film equivalent focal length of 31mm-217mm – take that, DSLR owners with your little 28-70mm pocket zooms!

Moreover, the camera comes with a 3.0-inch, 230,000 dot LCD screen and can record 720p HD video at 30 frames per second in H.264 format, giving users three times more recording capacity than MJPEG video.

The Samsung PL200 will be available in black, red and silver colors.
