Samsung Mobile has launched its first 8-megapixel touch screen camera phone, the SAMSUNG Pixon M8800. Yes, u read it right. The company claims that the phone is the first ever 8-MP touch screen phone to hit the Indian market. The new Samsung touchscreen phone is not cheap at a price of Rs 28,000 plus, but it is money well worth spending.

The Samsung Pixon M8800 phone offers features like like Advanced Shake Reduction, Blink detection, Smile detection, Face detection, Panoramic shot etc. Another exciting feature of the phone is that just by tilting the phone, pictures will scroll through for a great viewing experience. The PIxon M8800 has video recording capability and TV output for both PAL and NTSC systems.

Right from enjoying music and videos on the 8.1 cm wide full touch screen, to high quality image and video capturing, to sharing them with their friends and family, Samsung Pixon offers consumers the real benefit of mobile entertainment,” explains Sunil Dutt, country head, telecom division, Samsung.

The 3.2-inch WQVGA large full touchscreen of the Pixon M8800 supports Samsung TouchWiz user interface for intuitive tap, sweep, drag and drop operations as well as live Home Screen Widgets like weather info, Google Search etc.

The 3G capable Pixon comes with an onscreen QWERTY keyboard and onscreen handwriting recognition for emailing, messaging and other inputs. Pixon comes pre-loaded with host of popular games like Brain Challenge, Diamond Twister and Millionaire-3.

Samsung Pixon supports a wide range of video player formats including DivX, Xvid and mp4. Priced at Rs.28,750, the phone offers support for both HSDPA high speed Internet with up to 7.2 download speed and UMTS capability.

With the phone offering a maximum image resolution of 3264×2448, it is sure to attract customers in India who have a keen interest in photography. Touchscreen phones are all the range among Indian mobile phone users right now – and Samsung has put the perfect phone on the shelves to capture that market.

    is this phone to much to say the price??

    dat one is cool by samsung but why they dont advertise their benchmark quality 120fps video recording to indian customers, as earlier lg also also came up with the same pproblem they also dont promote their that 120 fps……., this technology is not easily understandable by indian customers so try to promote it this will really make a boom…..
