Samsung launches Miniket range of Digital Camcorders

Miniket with 6 in 1 functionality launched

Kolkata, May 12, 2005: Digital technology leader, Samsung India Electronics Ltd. today announced the launch of four new, state of the art MiniDV Camcorder models in the Indian market. The flagship model of the new range is the Miniket, Samsung's micro compact digital camcorder with 6 in 1 functionality. The new Samsung MiniDV range was launched by actress Raima Sen and Mr. Ravinder Zutshi, Deputy Managing Director, Samsung India in Kolkata today.

The new digital camcorder range from Samsung VP-D352i, VP-D353i, VP-D355i and VP-M110S (Miniket) come equipped with features like Memory Stick Slot, 800 K Pixel CCD, Digital Image Stabilizer, USB 2.0 for faster download of images or movie clips, high quality MPEG4 Movie Clip functionality, PictBridgeTM and 4 years of warranty. With the PictBridgeTM feature, the user can print out the photos taken with the MiniDV directly through the printer by just connecting the USB Cable. The MiniDV355i comes with a 4 in 1 Multi Memory Card Slot and has a built in memory of up to 64MB which allows the user to take photos and MPEG4 movies without adding a memory card.

Weighing only 150g, this card sized Samsung Miniket with 1Gb Hard Disc has a 6 in 1 functionality: Digital Video Camcorder, Digital Still Camera (Digital print order format photos can be directly printed from the printer by connecting the USB Cable), MP3 Player, Voice recorder (can record upto 18 hours of voice at 1 GB of memory space), Webcam, and Data Storage (Simply connect the USB Cable and the Miniket can stream down data from the PC). The Miniket has the best in class MPEG4 picture performance and electronic image stabilizer to avoid shaking or hand movements while zooming or capturing small objects.

"The product differentiation for our camcorders is their compact form, convenient functionality and their communication/connectivity with other devices" states Mr. Zutshi. With the launch of the new Camcorder models, Samsung has a range of 6 MiniDV models in the product portfolio, priced in the range of Rs.24,990/-~Rs.44,990/-.

"We want to lead the technological innovation in the Indian marketplace with our products. We plan to sustain the excitement by launching 3 new MiniDV models next month " states Mr. Zutshi.
