Samsung Metro 3210 3G phone to arrive soon in India

Samsung is planning to release its low-end 3G phone Samsung Metro 3210 in India very soon.

Samsung has not specified its pricing details, but the phone is expected to carry a price tag of about Rs. 3,500. Also see our story on cheap 3G phones in India

Samsung Metro 3210 specifications

Samsung Metro 3210 is a basic candy bar mobile phone that weighs around 79.3 gms and looks slim and sleek with dimensions of 112.8 x 46.4 x 12.9 mm. The Metro 3210 phone comes with a 2-inch display screen rendering a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels. It features a 1.3-megapixel VGA camera with video recording capabilities.

Samsung Metro 3210 operates at a frequency of Quad band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and Dual band 3G HSDPA 900/2100 network. The new Samsung 3G phone can play MP3 audio files and a stereo FM with recording feature. It also features video player.

For connectivity, Samsung Metro 3210 mobile supports GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, WAP and microUSB 2.0, apart from 3G. It also has a WAP-based browser and comes with pre-installed social networking apps. The Metro 3210 has a 36MB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 8GB with the help of microSD.

The Metro 3210 packs in an 800mAh battery that offers a talk time of up to 8.3 hrs on 2G and 3.3 hrs on 3G, and a standby time of 550 hrs on 2G and 330 hrs on 3G.

Overall, since it offers 3G connectivity at an affordable price, the Metro 3210 sounds great.

Other 3G phones in India

A lot of mobile manufacturers have come up with 3G phones that are affordable, priced below Rs. 5,000. Let’s have a look at some of the cheap 3G phones in the market today:

Samsung C5010 is priced at Rs. 3,534, which is a 3G-ready phone. This 3G mobile phone allows you to surf the Internet via a preinstalled NF 3.5 browser, do video calling and enjoy multimedia applications–all while on the move.

Another budgeted 3G phone is the LG GU285 that comes at a price of Rs. 4,737. This 3G enabled phone is equipped to facilitate real-time video telephony (thanks to a forward facing camera built into the phone’s screen) and faster internet downloads.

Spice QT-95 3G QWERTY phone is another 3G phone that is priced at Rs. 4,999. This Java enabled phone lets you access streaming music videos, enjoy video calling, play games, or share your pictures and stories with your buddies on Facebook.
