Just a couple of days after news filtered in about Samsung Corby S3650’s Wi-Fi version, a new touchscreen phone, the Samsung Lindy M5650, has turned up in Portugal and Spain.Samsung has said that the phone will be available only in Portugal and Spain for now at a price of 149 euro ($220).

On the face of it, the Samsung Lindy M5650 looks exactly like the Samsung Corby S3650 but with slightly better specifications at nearly the same price. What’s not to like?

Like the Samsung Corby S3650, the Samsung Lindy M5650 has a 2.8-inch TFT LCD touchscreen display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels.

However, unlike the Samsung Corby S3650 that comes in bright colors like Yellow, Pink, White, and Orange, the Samsung Lindy M5650 will be available only in a combination of Silver and Black.

The Samsung Lindy M5650 is slightly bigger and heavier than the Samsung Corby S3650 with dimensions and weight of 106 x 57 x 12 mm and 98 g compared to the Samsung Corby S3650 that measures 103 x 56.5 x 12 mm, and weighs 90 g.

The Samsung Lindy M5650 is one up over the Samsung Corby S3650 phone with a 3.15 megapixel camera compared to the 2-megapixel camera found in the Samsung Corby S3650.

The phone has dedicated music keys in the front. It supports social networking sites like Bebo, Fotki, Facebook, Flickr, Photobucket, Youtube, Picasa, MySpace, and Friendster.

The Samsung Lindy M5650 will sport Samsung’s Touchwiz UI and haptic feedback system, with features like One Finger Zoom, Gesture Control, and Smart unlock.

The phone is solid in terms of connectivity with support for 3G (HSDPA 7.2 Mbps), Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, and microUSB v2.0. This is where the Samsung Lindy M5650 scores heavily over the original Corby S3650. Remember the Samsung Corby S3650 comes sans Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity.

The phone works on Quad-band GPRS, EDGE 850 /900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz and UMTS/HSDPA 900/2100 MHz networks.

Other features of the Samsung Lindy M5650 include 70MB internal memory expandable to 16GB via microSD card, Stereo FM Radio with RDS, and Speakerphone.

Given the success of the Corby phones in the Indian market, it won’t be long before the Samsung Lindy M5650 will be launched in India, at a sweet price.
