The pictures came from the US where some of the handsets branded Instinct have been already released. The new one which has been christened Samsung InstinctQ is also expected to be launched in the near future.
Some reports say that the phone will be launched on October 11, 2009 or in early November 2009.
The phone is also expected to be launched in UK because the older version too made an appearance there. It is expected to come to UK via O2.
Pocket-lint.com had quoted a Samsung spokesperson as saying, “Samsung and O2 are committed to providing customers with the best user-experience, each device therefore goes through a stringent ‘customer experience’ testing prior to launch.”
“Samsung and O2 have been working together to ensure the device meets customer expectations and the device will be available for purchase shortly,” the spokesperson had said further.
pocket-lint.com later clarified that the Samsung spokesperson was talking about the Samsung’s Galaxy i7500 Android phone, that is set to be released via O2, in 2009, and that the company had no plans to launch the Samsung InstinctQ Android phone at this point in time.
There is not much that can be deduced about the phone’s features from the leaked photos.
The only feature that is clear from the photo of the Samsung InstinctQ Android phone is that it will have a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, leading to speculation that the Q in the name InstinctQ stands for QWERTY.
Reports say that the Samsung InstinctQ Android phone is the first Samsung handset from the Instinct series to come with a QWERTY keypad. It will also be the second Android mobile phone with a hard keyboard.
The Samsung InstinctQ Android phone is also said to incorporate Wi-Fi, and a combination of touch and mechanical buttons.
Phandroid has said that the Samsung InstinctQ Android phone will have buttons, such as home, menu, back, call, end, and Dpad, that one would expect from an Android phone.
Instead of a wide screen ratio of 16:9, the Samsung InstinctQ Android phone is said to feature a 3:2 screen ratio with a screen resolution of 320×480 pixels.
As expected, there is no information available about the price of the Samsung InstinctQ android phone.
