The new Samsung HMX-E10 camcorder, priced $ 199.99, comes with a 270 degree swivelling lens that helps the user to record from just any angle. The HMX-E10 pocket camcorder includes 1080p HD H.264 video recording at 30fps, a 2x digital zoom and a 2.7? touchscreen.

The HMX-E10 uses a 1/3.2 inch CMOS sensor that captures 1920×1080 full HD resolution video (30p / H.264) as well as shoot eight mega-pixel digital still images. It has a built-in USB port function that enables users to connect the camcorder directly to any computer without added attachments like a USB cable. The USB cable can also be used to charge the battery of the Samsung HMX-E10.

Sangjin Park, President of the Digital Imaging Business, Samsung Electronics said, “The HMX-E10 offers the image quality, ultra-compact design and built-in USB technology that consumers expect from this class of camcorder, but goes a step beyond, offering features such as a swivelling lens, versatile LCD screen and a range of smart filters, which give users the ability to do more and express their creativity.”

Its play-edit-sharing program called intelli-studio gives users the ability to edit and play their video from any computer without need to install supporting software.

Moreover, there is an onscreen Upload button on the Samsung HMX-E10. When the pocket camcorder is connected to a computer, the Upload button links directly to a specified content sharing Web site, such as YouTube, and uploads the video in one step.

Another unique feature of the Samsung HMX-E10 is its 2.7-inch wide, touch-screen LCD, which gets divided into two sections at the time of recording.  The top displays the live view showing what is currently in the frame and the bottom displays a series of touch-screen controls including record, stop and play.

Interestingly, the user can now be a part of the video or photo frame, thanks to the swivelling lens of the HMX-E10 that can be rotated so that the user can take a photo or video of himself.

The Samsung HMX-E10 pocket camcorder has Smart Filters that help the user to get unique lens and color effects. The camcorder’s lens effects include miniature and vignetting to produces the tilt and lens shift effect or lomo effect. Color effects include defog and sketch.

The Samsung HMX-E10 will be available in ivory and black this September for an estimated price of $199.99 in the United States. We hope this will also appear in Indian retails stories soon.
