Samsung has announced the launch of its Corby phone, the Samsung Genio Slide, also known as CorbyPro B5310, in the UK market, through Vodafone. The phone comes with a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and a 3-megapixel camera with smile detection and anti-shake. The phone measures 105x569x15.68 mm and weighs around 135 g.
The Samsung Genio Slide is targeted at tweens who are looks-conscious and like to stay connected at all times.
The company offers three different front and back covers with the phone that allow users to create a different look. Users can also customize their social networks and other applications they want to access quickly across three separate home screens.
The Samsung Genio Slide works with Microsoft Exchange, so it’s easy to send and receive company emails through the phone.
The Samsung Genio Slide is equipped for fast downloading up to 7.2Mbps, which makes the Genio a perfect phone for uploading videos and mail attachments, and so on. Users can use your phone at WiFi spots as well.
It also has FM radio and is well-connected with WiFi, GPS, HSDPA 3G, a 3.5 mm headset jack and provides quick access to social networking sites.
Other specs of the Samsung Genio Slide include FM radio, MP3 player, GPS, HSDPA, 3G, 3.5-mm jack, and 120MB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 16GB via a micro SD card slot.
The phone also packs the BBC iPlayer accesss inside its QWERTY case. The battery offers talktime of up to 480 minutes and standby time of up to 560 hours.
Customers can take home the Samsung Genio Slide for free with a 2-year contract agreement of at least £15 per month, or an 18-month contract of at least £25 per month.
