Samsung Galaxy Tablet photos leak, price yet to be revealed

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tablet is now in the open.

A bunch of photos of the Samsung galaxy Tab as it is called have made their way to the Net. What we get to see from the leaked images of the Galaxy Tab are the Samsung’s serious effort at making a tablet device that runs Android. It is believed that The Samsung Galaxy Tab would sport a super AMOLED display that would give it a bright and shiny user interface like on the Galaxy smartphones or the Google Nexus One.

The Samsung galaxy Tab has a 7-inch high-res TFT display. On the top is a 3.5mm headphone jack and on the top right corner, we see a forward-facing camera. Besides, the pictures also reveal a volume control placed on the top of the tablet’s left edge. Related: Android 3.0 tablet launches in 2010 and 2011 We are just waiting to know if the Android in the tablet is an Android 2.1 or 2.2 Froyo edition. No further information about the specifications are available yet, but we are confident the processor will be a 1 GHz Snapdragon or higher.

Believed to have leaked through the Samsung South Africa team’s Twitter account, the info just stops there. The Twitter account promises more pictures in the coming days, though. This year is likely to see a bunch of Android based tablet devices taking on the Apple iPad.

Speculations, however, have hinted at some more valuable information on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab. One of the reports says that the user interface used would be the TouchWiz UI. It is also being said that the new Samsung tablet will come running an integrated module WWAN.

The looks of the Samsung Galaxy Tab are quite similar to a Samsung Galaxy S smartphone. The tablet has a screen which boasts of the same 5:3 ratio as the Samsung Galaxy. In case, you are unaware, the Samsung Galaxy displays 800×480 pixels of resolution. The tablet may also sport similar features, it is speculated. In the picture we also see a SIM card icon. Apart from the SIM card icon, the pictures also say that the device would be compatible with 3G and WI-FI, and has a MicroSD Icon.

Earlier reports had hinted at a possible South Korean debut for the Samsung tablet by August. But the leak now makes us look at a South African roll out first, right in time for the month-long Soccer World Cup that would get underway on June 11.

We expect more info to be made available soon about the price of the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Other exciting Android tablet devices this year include the Dell Streak tablet, and the upcoming Notion Ink Adam Pixel Qi tablet.
