The phone is expected to take on the Google Nexus One, that is not exactly setting the market on fire, but has much better specs than the other Android phones that Samsung has launched so far.

The details leaked so far show that the Samsung Galaxy 2 shares some important features with the Google Nexus One. The question is: Will it offer something better?

The phone will come with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor compared to the Qualcomm QSD 8250 1 GHz that the Google Nexus One packs.

Both the Samsung Galaxy 2 and the Google Nexus one have a 3.7-inch AMOLED display screen.

The Samsung Galaxy 2 will also come with a 5-mega pixel camera. It will run Android v 2.1 like the Google Nexus One.

But it is expected to beat the Google Nexus One in terms of capacity.

The Samsung Galaxy 2 will come with 32GB integrated memory unlike the Google Nexus One that comes with 512MB Flash expandable to 4GB via Micro SD Card.

Other specifications of the Samsung Galaxy 2 Android pphone are likely to include the staples that one has come to expect from Android smartphones – GPRS, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, USB, accelerometer, 3.5-mm jack, video recording, geo tagging and so on.

The phone is expected to be launched by mid-2010 and may be announced at the Mobile World Congress 2010, that will be held in Barcelona in February, androphones has reported.

Currently, the following Samsung Android phone are available in the market – Samsung Galaxy, Samsung Galaxy Spica, Moment and Behold II.
