Samsung Diva S7070 phone launched in UK

Samsung has launched its women-centric fashion phone, the Samsung Diva S7070, in the UK via Carphone Warehouse.The company had announced the Samsung Diva S7070 touchscreen phone way back in November 2009.

The Samsung Diva S7070 comes in two colors, black and white, with a plastic body frame in silver.

It has a diamond-shaped button in the front and a white quilted back cover.

The phone measures 101 x 54.8 x 13.4 mm and weighs 94 grams.

In terms of features, the Samsung Diva S070 is let down by its 2.8-inch WQVGA resistive touchscreen display screen with a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. The phone will come with a virtual keyboard.

It has a 3.2-megapixel camera with auto focus and a beauty shot made that enables users to touch up pictures.

The phone comes with 40MB internal memory and support for microSD memory cards up to 8GB.

The Diva S7070 runs Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface. Other specifications of the Samsung Diva S7070 include Facebook and MySpace social networking integration, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, microUSB connector, and a built-in FM with RDS and FM recording.

The phone will also feature accelerometer sensor for turn-to-mute, DNSe sound effect, Wish List application, and Gesture Lock. Using the Wishlist app, users will be able to organize their shopping plans.

The Samsung Diva S7070 works on GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 network. The phone has a Li-Ion 960 mAhbattery that offers Talk time of up to 10 hours and Standby time of up to 800 hours.

Carphone Warehouse will offer Benefit cosmetic products as complimentary gifts to the first 10,000 buyers of the Samsung Diva S7070. O2 will give away free 12-month subscriptions from iSUBSCRiBE to the first 8,000 buyers of the Samsung Diva S7070.

The Samsung S7070 Diva will be available freevia T-Mobile for 15 pounds a month on a 2-year contract, and Orange for 20 pounds a month on a two-year agreement.
