Samsung Corby S3650W Wi-Fi touchscreen phone soon

More on the Samsung Corby front. The company plans to launch an updated Wi-Fi version of the Samsung Corby S3650 touch screen phone.Called the Samsung Corby S3650W, the phone has received a Wi-Fi Interoperability Certificate, SamsungHub has reported.

The Samsung Corby S3650W has the same specifications as that of the Samsung S3650 Corby phone. It has an 2.8-inch QVGA touch screen, measures 103 x 57 x 13 mm and weighs 92 gms.

Like the Samsung Corby S3650, the Samsung Corby S3650W comes with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface, 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth v 2.1 with A2DP, FM Radio with RDS, MP3 player, quad band GSM connectivity, and access to Facebook, YouTube, and MySpace.

Other specifications include a microSD card slot, 16GB external memory, accelerometer sensor, speakerphone, and standard battery with three hours of Talk time and 300 hours of Standby time.

The phone will be available in four colors, Jamaican Yellow, Cupid Pink, Minimal White and Festival Orange.

There is no information as to when the Samsung Corby S3650W will be launched but some reports have indicated January 2010 as the launch month.

Recently, Samsung launched a Wi-Fi version of its popular Samsung Star S5233 touchscreen phone, in India, the Samsung Star S5233w.

The new Samsung Star S5233w touchscreen phone too has the same specifications as that of its predecessor, the Samsung Star S5233, except that it offers Wi-Fi.

The phone that was launched in India at a price of Rs 12,000 come with a 3-inch 240 x 400 pixels, 262K colors WQVGA touch screen, 3.2-megapixel camera, and mobile widgets-enabled Touch Wiz User Interface.

The phone comes with 50MB memory and microSD card support, expandable to 8GB.

Other features of the  Samsung Star S5233w include Bluetooth with A2DP, USB 2.0, FM radio, MP3 player with DNSe, support for multi-format playback, accelerometer sensor for auto rotation, and handwriting recognition.
