Samsung Behold II to come soon via T-Mobile

3Samsung has announced that it will reveal the release date of the Samsung Behold II, its first Android phone via T-Mobile, on November 12, 2009.The phone will be unveiled by Samsung and T-Mobile on November 12, 2009, and is expected go on sale on November 18, 2009 or thereabouts (unconfirmed), just before the holiday madness starts.

The price of the Samsung Behold II has been pegged to be under $250, with a 2-year contract, according to some reports.

Leaked photos and videos of the Samsung Behold II, that have been floating on the net for a while now, have revealed much of the phone’s features.

The Samsung Behold II Android phone will come with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface. This UI allows users to customize and set widgets and shortcuts on their home screen.

The phone comes with a 3.2-inch AMOLED resistive touch screen and a  5-megapixel camera with auto focus, flash, and digital zoom. At this point, we do not know of the touchscreen will be capacitive or resisitve. The resolution of the screen does not seem to be great though – it is only 240×400 pixels.

The Samsung Behold II has a rotating 3D cube menu that allows users to access photos, videos, YouTube, internet, and Amazon MP3.

Connectivity features of the Samsung Behold II Android phone include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, and a microSD card slot with expandable memory up to 18 GB. 3G support is also availabe for T-Mobile’s network.

Other features include MP3 music player, support for MPEG4, and A-GPS.

The Android space is hotting up with back-to-back launches, the most recent being the super successful Motorola Droid, said to provide serious competition to the Apple iPhone.

The other exciting Android phone to be launched is the Sony Xperia X10, that was announced on November 3, 2009.
As for T-Mobile, the Samsung Behold II is its fourth Android phone, the first three being the HTC G1, HTC MyTouch 3G, and the HTC Hero.
