Hard on the heels of the news of AT&T gearing up to launch a slew of phones, such as the BlackBerry 9700 Onyx, HTC Tilt 2 and so on, rumors have surfaced about the Samsung A797 phone, that will be released by AT&T.Reports say that the Samsung A797 phone has turned up in classifieds on Craiglist.
Photos of the Samsung A797 mobile phone suggest that the phone will have a touchscreen but it is unclear, whether it wil be resistive or capacitive.

Though, in keeping with Samsung’s penchant for resistive touchscreens, the Samsung A797 mobile phone is likely to have the same. Bluetooth, an MP3 player, and a full QWERTY keyboard that slides out are other noticeable features of the cell phone.
There are not many more details that can be garnered from the pictures, but the Samsung A797 mobile phone does not have a a directional pad for sure, which may be disappointing for some.

It is unclear whether Samsung plans to sport the TouchWiz 2.0 in the phone, making the final product worthwhile.
The price of the Samsung A797 mobile phone on Craiglist, is listed as $115, suggesting that the phone might not cost much when it is launched.
It would be interesting to see if Samsung will launch the Samsung A797 phone in India. Recently, in August 2009, Samsung announced that it would launch 40 new phones in India, in 2009. So far, it has launched 27 models in the country, in 2009. The remaining 13 would be launched between September-December 2009.
In India, Samsung has dominated the touchscreen phone market.
It has a 45 per cent share in the touchscreen market in India, followed by Chinese phones, Nokia, and LG.
It has an overall marketshare of 11-12 per cent, and is now the number two phone manufacturer in India.
