Reliance Netconnect Broadband+, the high-speed wireless broadband internet service from Reliance Communications has come to Kolkata. Reliance Netconnect+ Broadband is pitted against Tata Indicom Photon+, the rival high-speed wireless broadband internet service from Tata Indicom.

Reliance Netconnect Broadband+, like Tata Indicom Photon+, offers maximum download speeds up to 3.1 mbps, and maximum upload speeds of
up to 1.8 mbps. These speeds are about 20 times faster than those currently available for wireless broadband. (Actual download speed is around 500 kbps and actual upload speed is about 400 kbps) The high-speed wireless broadband from Reliance Netconnect+ Broadband enables viewing of streaming videos and online gaming over wireless internet.

Reliance Netconnect Broadband+ is a simple-to-use plug and play service. The tiny USB device, with a built-in antenna, gathers the wireless broadband signal. The connection comes with a software which needs to be installed on your desktop or laptop before you can start surfing.

The cost of buying a Reliance Netconnect Broadband+ subscription is Rs 3,500. In addition, monthly rentals start from Rs 299. Tariff details are given below:

For Reliance Netconnect Broadband+ Pay As you Go plan, the monthly rental is Rs. 299, with Rs 2 per MB of data usage. For Reliance Netconnect Broadband+ Unlimited Night Plan, the monthly rental is Rs 499 for unlimited usage from 10 PM to 6 AM, while during day, the charges will be Rs 2 per MB of data. For Reliance Netconnect Broadband+ 1 GB Plan, the monthly rental is Rs. 650/ for total 1 GB data download  per month. For Reliance Netconnect Broadband+ 2.5 GB Plan, the monthly rental is Rs. 850 for 2.5 GB data download. Data usage over the approved limits in data plans will be charged at Rs 2 per MB. Also, it is to be noted that unlimited plans are not really “unlimited”, since Reliance will charge you at the rate of 2 per MB
once you cross the data transfer limit of 10 GB. This is mentioned in the fair usage policy by Reliance Communications.

Reliance claims that the Reliance Netconnect Broadband+ wireless internet coverage is now available in 35 cities in India, with roaming across cities: Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Ernakulam, Erode, Guntur, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kakinada, Kolkata, Kota, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Mysore, Nagpur, Patiala, Pune, Rajahmundry, Salem, Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, Tirupur, Udaipur, Ujjain, Vadodara, Vapi, Vijayawada and Visakhapatanam.

Reliance and Tata already have low-speed USB-based wireless internet access services: Plug2Surf from Tata Indicom and Reliance Netconnect 1X from Reliance. Both offer relatively lower speeds of 144 kbps. However, these options are cheaper to use.

reliance netconnect has a very worse performance record. lowest speed i heard is 367 kbps (in bangalore city south area) and highest i heard is 1.5 mbps in new delhi. so that is 3.1 mbps 20x faster internet from reliance.

Reliance has the worst connection in terms of wireless broadband. They promised me that I will be getting uninterrupted connection since the day i purchased the device from Gurgaon, Grand Mall but it never gets connected till today. sometimes by luck maybe once or twice it gets connected in broadband but its very very rare. I live in gurgaon and I think I have been cheated by Reliance. The engineers say it will be resolved but the day never arrives. I am getting frustrated. Please dont for reliance. This is my message
