Photos, video of LG E720 Android 2.2 Froyo phone leaked

A Polish website has leaked photos and a video of the LG E720 Android smartphone.

Before you get excited about this “new” handset, do note that the LG E720 is the same phone – the Optimus Chic – that was unveiled with the Optimus One last month. However, the Polish blog, which is dedicated to the Android OS, insists that these photos and video of the handset are the first to be made public.

The LG E720 aka the Optimus Chic runs on the Android 2.2 Froyo and is being touted as LG’s entry-level Android. The smartphone will likely come preloaded with LG’s S-class interface. There is no information, however, on whether the phone would be launched in the US or European markets.

The website reports that the LG E720 sports a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen. A leaked XML file suggests that the display will be WQVGA.

The LG E720 Optimus Chic does not boast of any extraordinary features. It is powered by a Qualcomm MSM722 processor and likely to offer speeds of 600 MHz speed. Your garden-variety smartphone now comes with a 1 GHz processor, and there are several phones with 1.3 GHz and 1.2 GHz dual core processors in the works. That does not mean that the phone is necessarily slow, however.

Other technical specifications of the LG E720 Optimus Chic mobile phone include Wi-Fi connectivity and a GPS sensor. The smartphone is also equipped with a 5-megapixel camera. There is no information on the size of the touchscreen yet.

A 3.5mm audio jack on top and a USB port on the side complete the LG E720 package.

There are no confirmed reports of the official launch of the LG E720 though it is likely to be available in the market within the next few months.

The expected price of the LG E720 is still anybody’s guess.
