As the movie companies and content producers usher in the 3D phenomena, consumer electronic companies like Panasonic are also riding the wave. Panasonic announced the launch of the world’s first fully integrated full HD 3D camcorder at the Consumer Electronic Show 2010 at Las Vegas. It will be available in the markets by September 2010.
In Panasonic’s new 3D camcorder, the lenses, camera head and the dual memory card recorder comes integrated in a single, lightweight body. It also comprises stereoscopic adjustment controls, making it easy to use.
The twin-lens system of the Panasonic Full HD 3D camcorder allows adjusting of the convergence point. The vertical and horizontal displacements can also be corrected. It can also automatically recalibrate without any external equipment, unlike the ones currently available in the market.
Priced at $21,000, the Panasonic 3D camcorder’s solid-state, stable design helps to reduce maintenance costs and enables it to function in extreme environments and offers better resistance to temperature, shock and vibration.
With a highly-productive file-based window, the camcorder provides random access to recorded content and has Mac and PC-based platforms.
Users can enjoy a fast, highly-productive file-based workflow, with instant, random access to recorded content; easy plug-in to both Mac and PC-based platforms; and longer recording capacity.
The Panasonic Full HD 3D camcorder offers more flexibility to produce videos in not-so-favourable shooting environments with its solid-state memory file-based recording. It’s lightweight and smaller than the 3D camcorders in the market and is very portable as it provides the flexibility of handheld-style shooting.
It is value for money and gives you more than the camcorders available in the market at present. Using standard, re-recordable SDHC/SD memory cards available already everywhere, media costs become almost insignificant.
Panasonic also plans to offer a professional-quality 3D Full HD LCD monitor for field use as well as a professional HD digital AV mixer for live event production.
