Nokia, the world’s largest mobile phone maker, has plans to introduce multi-sim mobile phone in the Indian market. Dual-SIM phones are the latest trend and Nokia is not sying away from the increasing demand for dual sim mobile phones.
Nokia has said that considering the increase in demand for dual sim mobile phones in India, the company has plans plans to launch dual sim mobile phones for Indian consumers. Nokia Head (Activation, Media & Online Marketing) Viral Oza said, “We are looking at more than one SIM phone.”
Although there are strong indications that Nokia might launch its new dual sim mobile phone in India in 2010, Oza declined to give any timeframe for the same.
Dual sim mobile phones in India have seen an uptrend in the last year, as more people opt for a dual sim phone instead o carrying around two separate mobile phones. So far, most of the market was catered to by Chinese players – but LG got into it first, and now Samsung is following.
Nokia’s competitors have dual sim mobile phones for the Indian market and they are receiving good response from the consumers of the 100 million handset market.
Nokia’s Life Tools services is currently available on Idea network only. Nokia has said that the company is in talks with other operators too, to offer the services to Indians.
The Nokia Life Tools Services provides a bundle of services which target farmers and students from emerging countries.
