UPDATE: Nokia has launched the N97 Mini in the Indian market at a price of Rs 30,939. The phone will start shipping in the last week of November 2009.
unwired view has reported that the Nokia N97 Mini will be launched in India during the Nokia N-Tourage event.
Price and availability details of the Nokia N97 Mini will be revealed during the launch, though it expected that the phone will cost upwards of Rs 20,000.
The launch of the Nokia N97 Mini in India will come four months after the launch of the Nokia N97 in India, at a price of Rs 36, 119.

The Nokia N97 Mini sliding phone has a 3.2-inch touch screen tilting display with a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels and a full QWERTY keyboard.

The tilting display allows users to view webpages, videos, photos, and maps at a natural 35-degree angle, Nokia has said.
Like the Nokia N97, the Nokia N97 Mini, too, has a resistive touch screen.
The phone measures 113 x 52.5 x 14.2 mm and weighs 138 gms.
Users can customize the home screen using widgets, shortcuts, icons, and themes and set customized profiles.
The sophisticated 5-mega pixel camera is equipped with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, and Dual LED flash. It features geo-tagging and an orientation and proximity sensor that offers automatic aspect orientation and automatic battery cut-off.

The phone offers video recording (VGA) and playback at 30 frames per second and also features a video light.
At the heart of the Nokia N97 Mini is the ARM 11 434 MHz processor. The phopne runs on Symbian OS v9.4 operating system.
The Nokia N97 Mini comes with 8GB storage asnd 128MB RAM and MicroSD card slot with expandable memory up to
16MB.
Connectivity features include GPRS, EDGE, stereo Blue tooth, high-speed USB 2.0, HSDPA, 3.5-mm AV connector, and Wi-Fi. A TV-out cable allows users to view their photos and videos directly on their TVs.

The phone offers full web browsing, RSS reader, support for HTML, Flash Lite 3.0, Flash video, streaming video, video call and video sharing.
The Nokia N97 Mini comes with a BL-4D 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery with maximum talk-time of 430 mins for GSM and 240 mins for WCDMA.
The phone will come in three colors, Cherry Black, Garnet and White.
Maximum standby time is 320 hours for GSM and 310 hours for WCDMA. maximum video playback time (nHD at 30 frames per second) is 210 mins, while maximum video recording time (VGA at 30 frames per second is 170 mins.
