Nokia N97 Mini spy photos, price and specifications out

Rumors about the Nokia N97 Mini had been doing the rounds ever since the Nokia N97 phone was launched in July 2009.

At that time, information was leaked that the Nokia N97 Mini will be launched by the end of 2009.

A look at the spy pictures carried by Engadget shows that the Nokia N97 Mini version of the Nokia 97 phone sports a smaller screen and does not have a  D-pad.

Now, some fresh details have surfaced, in the first week of August 2009, about the price, specifications, and release date of the Nokia N97 Mini phone.

Mobile-Review.com has said that the Nokia N97 Mini will have 8GB of storage memory, half that of the Nokia N97.

Given that the phone is a mini version of the original Nokia N97, the screen has been scaled down to 2.9 inches with a resolution of 640×360 pixels.

There is speculation that, unlike the Nokia N97, the Nokia N97 Mini phone would probably not feature a lens cover at the back but it is yet to be seen if the camera would be reduced from 5 MP to a lower figure.

The Nokia N97 Mini is expected to be launched on September 2, 2009, at Nokia World 2009 in Stuttgart.

Another rumor that is floating around is that Nokia itself has leaked the details of the Nokia N97 Mini in order to beat another company that was planning to launch a mini phone.

Nokia has been launching mini versions for its models. After the launch of Nokia 5800, the Finish Company came up  with the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic which was more or less a mini version of Nokia 5800.

The grapevine estimates the price of the N97 Mini phone to be around £80 – £100 less than the original model. However, one will have to wait till September 2, 2009, to get any firm details of the Nokia N97 Mini phone.
