Nokia 6760 Slide launched in India

Nokia has launched the Nokia 6760 Slide in India. The Nokia Slide 6760, which was launched earlier in July 2009 in Europe as the Nokia Surge, is primarily designed for messaging on the move.

The Nokia 6760 Slide will be available at price of Rs 14,000 in three colours, red, black and white.

The Nokia 6760 Slide phone features a full QWERTY keypad and runs on Symbian S60 v3.2.

The phone sports a 2.4-inch QVGA display at 320×240 pixels. It has an internal memory of 128 MB extensible to 8GB via a microSD card, although it comes with a 2 GB card.

The Nokia 6760 Slide phone comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera, with a 3.15-megapixel CMOS sensor, and FM radio. The phone does not come with autofocus or LED flash.

Five hours of talk time may not be as appealing as five hundred hours of standby time especially after considering all the messaging functionalities the phone incorporates.

The Nokia 6760 Slide phone has a quad band GSM support and 3.6 mbps HSDPA. It also features a 2.5 mm audio jack, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth support.

The AT&T navigator is replaced by Nokia maps and also comes with A-GPS which uses 3D landmarks and terrain mapping. The phone has three multi media buttons with a five-way joystick and a Nokia button.

The Nokia 6760 Slide phone weighs 123 grams, though it looks heavier.

The Nokia 670 Slide comes with 1500mAh battery with a talk-time of five hours and a standby time of around 20 days.

The Nokia 6760 Slide is choc-a-bloc with messaging software and gives access to a range of e-mail services. It comes with QuickOffice and pdf reader pre installed.

Nokia messaging, Google talk, Windows live messenger can be easily accessed by phone. The Nokia 6760 Slide also supports Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.
